2 cups chickpea flour/besan 1 cup unsalted butter 1 cup powdered sugar (home ground) 1 tsp milk 1 tsp cardamom powder Few saffron strands (optional) Melt the butter and add the chickpea flour. Roast on medium flame stirring continuously for 20-25 minutes. It will start bubbling and will start changing its color and fragrant. Once it is roasted you will see it drop gradually. Add the milk, mix and keep aside to cool at room temperature. Once it's cooled add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder and saffron (optional) and mix until the sugar gets well incorporated into the besan. Mix with your hand and check if it's binding together and start rolling into balls of desired size. Decorate anyway you like.
