This immersive Winter Lights Festival runs from November 29, 2025 to January 11, 2026, transforming the Palmengarten into a magical world of light, color, and atmosphere. Each evening from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the Palmengarten is illuminated with hundreds of artistic light installations in cooperation with World of Lights. Visitors can explore glowing trees, illuminated plants, video projections, and luminous sculptures spread throughout the gardens, meadows, and greenhouses — creating a truly unforgettable winter experience in Frankfurt. Our walk begins at the main Palmengarten entrance near the rose garden, where a stunning light show is projected onto a pavilion. From there, we follow the designated pathways north toward the Oktagonbrunnen (Octagon Fountain), featuring a beautifully lit boat display. Continuing onward, we pass vibrant, color-lit trees before arriving at the Dahliengarten (Dahlia Garden), where creative light installations of flowers, birds, and ladybugs come to life. As we approach the Palmengarten Grotte and ponds, we walk through a spectacular illuminated tunnel of lights, one of the most popular photo spots of the festival. Along the way, festive Christmas market stands offer warm Glühwein (mulled wine) and seasonal treats — perfect for staying cozy during the chilly winter evening. The Palmengarten Winterlichter is a wonderful way to escape the gloomy German winter and enjoy a peaceful, visually stunning night outdoors.
