Vlogging and Landscape Photography with the Fujifilm X-T100

Fujifilm sent me a new X-T100 to use as a vlogging and landscape photography camera. I’ve been interested in the X-T100 ever since it was announced primarily because of the screen that rotates around to make vlogging easy. As you know I own the Fujifilm X-T2 so vlogging with a Fujifilm camera has many advantages. The 24Mpx Bayer sensor along with the Fujifilm colour science means I can step up the quality of the videos I create. So in this video, I put the X-T100 through its paces on a family holiday we took recently down to Margaret River and Dunsborough. I used it for all the vlogging sections as well last the b-roll sequences trying out the 60fps. The weather wasn’t great for the few days we were down there, but I found an opportunity to get out to the coast in-between rain showers to capture a few seascape images of Castle Rock with the Fujifilm X-T100. With the Lee Filters mounted on the front of the XC15-45mm kit lens, I used a CPL polariser with an aperture of f10 on ISO 200, I had a shutter speed of around 1/4 of a second that I increased as the light faded. With heavy cloud cover and no chance of a colourful sunset, I tried to capture the energy of the waves as they came crashing into the rocky beach. It was a tough day for landscape photography, however, the X-T100 held up extremely well in the conditions.
