The Society of Economic Geologists has partnered with Cultivage to present "Conflict Resolution Strategies for the Economic Geologist". Conflict and disagreement are inherent components of a career as an economic geologist, regardless of career type (industry, academia, or government) or experience level. There are several examples of conflicts that may be commonly experienced within the geosciences, including: 1) addressing poor performance from employees or contractors, 2) acknowledging differing professional opinions and work habits, and 3) diffusing escalated arguments between peers. During this event, attendees will be provided with access to a pre-recorded training presentation to become familiar with various responses to conflict and strategies toward conflict resolution. This will be followed by a live webinar where Maureen Breeze will review various strategies with a panel of economic geologists and invite them to share examples from their own experiences and unique career paths. The live webinar event will also provide the opportunity for attendees to share their own experiences and thoughts. Speakers Maureen Breeze, Stephen Piercey, and Michelle Campbell Recorded on June 25, 2025
