In this video, I talk about and show you my music journal that I just started. I'm enjoying it so much I just had to talk about it! Here is a list of my current top 5 songs just in case you're curious. There are SO many more that almost made the list but each of these has occupied a rather large and long term heart space for me ... so right now today these are it for me: 1. Hallelujah by Leonard Cohn 1984 - my personal favorite version is by Nick Schilder of Nick & Simon, from The Netherlands - the video is listed under Halleluha (De Beste Zangers Va Netherland). *I also love KD Lang's version of this song! 2. Refuge by Tom Petty & Mike Campbell, 1980 3. 500 Miles Away From Home, Bobby Bare, 1963 --- need more research as I believe the original may have been written by Hedy West but I am at this point still confused. 4. Vida (sung by La Mafia, Tejano Band) written by Armando Larrinaga, 1994. 5. If I Die Young, The Band Perry, written by Kimberly Perry, 2010 I've set up my music journal with a CVS Caliber Wide Ruled notebook placed inside a leather folio by Hide and Drink - product of Mexico. Here's a link to the folio (it is a sturdy real leather folio, very well made in my opinion: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FLC8QJD?... The Samsonite secretary/3-ring zipper file is something I bought locally at Office Depot years ago. It came in handy to hold ALL my music stuff in one place. I'm so glad I decided to follow my Mom's suggestion to start a music journal. If nothing else, I will be able to find lyrics and information I've already looked up quickly ... but I can already see that it's a joyful enterprise for me to be making notes on songs, singers, my harmonica and other music related books etc. Have you ever considered a music journal? I'd love to hear about it in the comments! Or any other special purpose journal!
