The importance of revisiting your book's back matter

Keeping your book's back matter updated is an important practice, and here's one example why. Right before the promo I ran for a digital box set, I had an experience that made me rethink how I had done the back matter in my books. Fortunately, it gave me plenty of time to make changes. If you don't know what back matter is, I talk a bit about that too, how I structure mine and why, and I'll also explain what I'm doing with my books instead. This is nothing against Draft2Digital or Books2Read, mind you. They offer a nice service, they just hadn't been warned there would be such a huge influx of traffic... as far as I know. I could be mistaken. I do think it would have been different if they'd known ahead of time, but it is what it is! I know the event organizers didn't anticipate this issue either, so it was just a learning experience for everyone.
