Join me in my ramblings as I review the BOOK 8088 IBM PC/XT Compatible laptop from AliExpress... An 8088 cpu based mini laptop, with only 640k ram, no UMA, 512 CF HDD, USB drive support and 3 ISA ports, a BIOS of questionable legality, tiny 7 inch screen, is the BOOK 8088. How could I pass up such an odd ball retro PC device to check out? I originally saw these last year but they quickly ran out of stock, so once I saw these available again, I took the chance to snap one up. It seems there is quite allot of stock now so I wouldn't fear in missing out, just make sure you get one with the sound card and ISA adapter as they seem to be optional extras now and will cost more if bought later. Will I regret it? No serial or PS/2? No floppy controller? Small screen? Only CGA? Well lets take a look at this franken-pc/xt and go from there...
