The living situation there is dire, says chief Middle East correspondent Emma Graham Harrison. Malnutrition continues to take a toll among Gaza’s youth despite a ceasefire declared two months ago, with more than 9,000 children admitted to treatment programmes for acute malnutrition in October alone, according to the latest UN figures. The ceasefire proposals put forward by Donald Trump imagined further phases of the ceasefire after the hostage and prisoner exchange, including the pullback to the “yellow line” and the withdrawal of Israeli forces, However, these phases were left purposefully vague and no roadmap has been planned, with fears that the ‘yellow line’ may become a permanent fixture.
