In this lecture we explore the profound Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava song “Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa Prāṇa Mora” by Śrīla Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura, one of the most intimate poetic expressions of Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa-bhakti. Beginning with the opening verse—“Rādhā-Kṛṣṇa are my life and soul; in life or death I have no other refuge”—the song establishes complete śaraṇāgati (surrender) to the Divine Couple. From this foundation, Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura unfolds a series of vivid service-meditations (sevā-smaraṇa), revealing the inner mood of mañjarī-bhāva cherished in the Gauḍīya tradition. In this talk we discuss: Why the first verse is the theological foundation of the entire song The symbolism of Vṛndāvana imagery (Yamunā, kadamba forest, flowers, ornaments) The meaning of intimate services such as anointing, fanning, garlanding, and offering tāmbula How Narottama dāsa Ṭhākura presents prema-bhakti free from personal desire The place of this song in rāgānugā-bhakti and manasī-sevā practice This lecture aims to present the song not merely as poetry, but as a map of inner devotional identity, rooted in classical Gauḍīya siddhānta and the writings of the Gosvāmīs.
