This weekend was opening weekend and one that is usually among the biggest for the league. With that in mind, I wanted to take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly from week one of the UFL. No long, super self-indulgent intros from me this time around. The UFL is back, and I could not be happier. Especially because there was no unnecessary opening game nonsense from The Rock. What a relief his plane had issues or whatever the case may be. Even with the ugly and bad, I still think the good made the UFL’s opening weekend enjoyable. The quality of play, at least from the winning teams, stood out. And hey, it is also refreshing to see a little defense being played. That being said, something has to, has to, has to be done about these attendance issues. I don’t know if it is moving into smaller venues or just giving away comp tickets. But fans in the stands need to be a priority for the league. The vast swathes of empty seats aren’t just notable; they’re kind of distracting and do take away from what’s happening on the field.
