eBiking Dunure to Ardrossan & ferry to Arran & Glen Rosa - Day 1 of cycle touring Scotland by ebike

Cycling from Dunore to Ardrossan to catch the ferry to Arran and then Brodick to Glen Rosa - ends with a swim in the Glen Rosa river - days 1 of my month long cycle tour of the Scottish Islands and Highlands The coast up from Dunore starts out pleasant & agriculture but has some complex industrial bits near the airport so you definitely want to follow the secondary road routes. There are some very nice stretches of greenway particularly between the airport & Ardrossan  You do want to book the ferry in advance, the bike space was crammed full. Get on deck for the end of the crossing as you approach Arran as there are great views of Goatfell & Holy Island I stayed in the ultra basic but beautifully located campsite in Glen Rossa and cycled most of the way to the pools on an increasingly rough track. Campsite just has toilets but is only 5 Str. I’d a dip in the river to wash the days sweat off The small town of Brodick has an excellent coop supermarket, cafes and the quirky Ormidale hotel where I’d a meal and 3 pints of cider before heading back to brave the midges.
