Welcome to today's video :) This time we restored an old kerosene lamp. A kerosene lamp consists of several parts: It consists of a cast-iron base, a kerosene tank, a flat wick holder, a regulation wheel, a glass cylinder and a lampshade. The first thing that lit up since prehistoric times was fire. Each of us likes the light from the fireplace or from the fire in the garden :) If we leave aside the various period lighting, we will find that the predecessor of the electric light was the just mentioned kerosene lamp. Kerosene lamps became widespread in the 19th century. Polish chemist Jan Józef Ignacy Łukasiewicz is considered the inventor of the kerosene lamp In 1837, a wickless kerosene lamp with a blower was constructed. And improvements came in 1855, and the American Benjamin Silliman was responsible for it. Today, kerosene lamps belong to the past, we meet them only exceptionally. We probably shouldn't curse them, because they can still serve us as emergency lighting in the event of a power outage. And we still have the test of our kerosene lamp :) And that's all for today :) If you liked the video, give us your subscription, like, share with friends and write us a comment.
