2025 Turkey Season – Jake Week! By BakerBanterDad

As Winter releases its grip on the landscape? It brings the dawn of a new season . The world begins to come back to life after the cold and dead winter. Spring brings warm weather and the fresh spring rains. The combination of the warm weather and the fresh spring rain begins turning the landscape green again. If you’re an outdoorsman, spring green up means moral mushrooms and turkey season. It means the turkeys are starting to gobble. And gobblers are starting to seek out hen turkey. The spring breeding season has begun. Spring brings turkey season to the Ozarks and many other areas across the country. If you’re a passionate Turkey Hunter, spring is your favorite of the year. You are ready to dust off your old shotgun, get your turkey hunting vest, and your decoys and your calls and your boots and your head out to the woods to chase that elusive gobbler! This was 2024 Opening day of the Missouri Turkey season. We had gone out the night before and listened for gobbling to prepare for the hunt the next morning. We heard birds gobbling at the head of 2 different valleys and decided to approach the hunt the next morning by getting set up at the edge of a field between the two sets of gobbling birds in a hope to have 1 or more of the birds fly down in our direction giving us some action.
