Rugged "all-terrain aircraft" the likes of a DHC-2 "Beaver" or an Antonov An-2 tend to become some kind of legend because of the circumstances they fly in and with being one of only a handful of types of aircraft, that can land at the (in)famous airport of Lukla (LUA/VNLK) in the Himalayas, the Dornier Do 228 should be amomgst those, but somehow isn't. That may be due to the fact that the Do 228 hasn't been produced for 9 years! But since 2007 it is back in production and may be it now gets its deserved status as an aviation legend.
