Kansas rancher, Bill Sproul talks about the value of using holistic approaches to cattle ranching in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Bill was the 2015 Leopold Conservation Award Winner and shares his trials and tribulations of cattle ranching. He understands every cattle rancher has their own experience and environment. He is eager to learn from others, as well as, share what he has learned about ranching over the years. (See other information about Kansas grazing at https://www.kglc.org/index.cfm) Holistic Management is a planning system that helps farmers, ranchers and land stewards better manage agricultural resources in order to obtain and maintain sustainable environmental, economic, and social benefits. Whether land is used for ranching, food production or public land conservation, it can be returned to health and/or its productivity greatly increased without large infusions of cash, equipment or technology. Take this opportunity to listen to his ranching stories and share with others. Comment below to share your opinions or stories below. Kansas Grazing Lands Coalition would like to be a platform for Kansas ranchers to share their experiences with others.
