How To Make Oat Bread - Oat Vanilla Bread Recipe Ingredients 1 cup rolled oats 1 1/3 cups boiling water or milk 1/3 cup maple syrup 2 tablespoons melted butter 2 teaspoons yeast 1 teaspoon salt 3 teaspoons vanilla 3 cups freshly milled flour: hard red, hard white, spelt, kamut, or Einkorn Directions In a large bowl combine water (milk), oats, maple syrup, and butter. Mix and let cool slightly. Add flour yeast, salt, yeast and vanilla. Mix until dough forms. Knead the dough for 7-8 minutes. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover and let rise 1 hour, until doubled. Gently deflate the dough, shape it into a log. Place the log ino a lightly greased 9 x 5 loaf pan. Make 1 inch slits into the dough and then goat with water, milk or egg white. This will help adhere the oats sprinkled on top. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until it has crowned 1 inch above the pan. Preheat over to 350 F. Bake for 40-45 minutes. Bake until the interior of the bread reaches 190’. Take out of oven and let sit for 10 minutes before slicing.
