Today on our 2011 Toyota Yaris, we're going to be taking a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Class 1 Sportframe trailer hitch receiver, part number 24911. Here's what the hitch looks like, once it's installed on a vehicle. As you can see, there isn't a whole lot that's visible. It's pretty well-hidden. You can see the end of the receiver tube opening here, which is one and a quarter by one and a quarter inches. Here we've got the safety chain loops with where the receiver tube comes out. It's a very good location that's going to help give you plenty of clearance to the rear of the vehicle for any hitch-mounted accessories, such as bike racks or cargo carriers, and even ball-mounts for that light duty towing. This hitch features a 200 pound max tongue weight rating, and a 2,000 pound gross trailer weight rating, and you will want to be sure to refer to your owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle's capable of that type of weight, and if not, you want to go by what the owner's manual says. Now, I'll give you some measurements to help assist you with your selection of hitch-mounted accessories. The distance from the center of the hitch pin hold to the outermost part of the rear bumper is four inches, and the distance from the top, inside edge of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 12 and one quarter inches. Now, let's show you how to install it. First thing we'll need to do to begin our installation, we've got this little tab right here at the bottom of the spare tire carrier, you'll need to take that and bend it so it's straight down. Just take a pair of pliers, and just take that and bend it down out of the way, so it won't interfere with our hitch, when it goes across right there. Next, we'll be taking out two little plastic rivets. What you can do is just take a flathead screwdriver and work the center out of it. Once you get the center out, the body of it should just pop right out. Then you do that same thing for this one right here. Now it's a good idea to get a second set of hands, and you want to feed it up over the exhaust on the passenger's side first. You get it pushed back to where you can get that little tab on the fascia 00:02:09 pulled down. Then you can do the same thing on the driver's side. You just have to work it up there. Then, you can put in one of your five eighths inch bolts with flat washer, then on the other side you can install a lock washer and a nut, and get those hand tight. Then we can install the rest of our hardware into the other two holes on each side. In each of those, you're going to push your bolt through, and then again, put another lock washer and a nut. So the other side will end up looking just like this one. Now we can begin to tighten up our hardware. The head of these smaller bolts is going to be a nine sixteenths inch wrench. Then the nut on the back side is going to be an 11 sixteenths. We'll get these tightened up. This one's going to be a 15 sixteenths on both sides. We'll do that, but the same thing to the other side. Now let's torque 00:03:34 until the specifications given in the instructions. Now we've got our hitch torque down, we can go back and install our pushpins. That's going to complete our look at the Draw-Tite Class 1 Sportframe trailer hitch receiver, part number 24911 on our 2011 Toyota Yaris.
