Rings, a commissioned piece by Frank Ticheli is a dramatic conflict between the two extremes of human existence — one divine, the other evil. Did you see the angel wings at the end of the second movement? The first movement represents the battle between heaven and hell. The second movement is the calm after the battle, and the third movement is the angles rebuilding heaven. The Allen High School Band (Allen, TX) received a perfect score, a first division rating from each of the judges for this performance at the University Interscholastic League Region 25 contest held in Plano, TX.
