SELLING MY PERFUMES | as a SELF-TAUGHT PERFUMER Making Perfumes Inspired by a Favorite Book | Expectations for Selling my Perfumes In this video I talk about my journey as a hobby perfumer and my vision for my perfumes. I am inspired by a historical fiction novel from 1994 called Lamia A Witch by Georgia Taylor. -She’s also written a book called The Infidel, also, The Death of Jason Darby, and Enthralled This novel takes place in the 1500’s in the Loire Valley of France during the times when people burned people who they perceived as witches. The main character, Lamia, is a child who lost her mother at a young age, and now lives alone in a cave in the Loire Valley Forest near the village where the people burned her mother, as a witch. Many of the perfumes I work on are inspired by situations and atmospheres contained in this book. I also discuss my journey regarding having realistic expectations for selling my perfumes in today’s fragrance market.
