Even after the DLC nobody was able to dethrone Morgott for my favorite boss in Elden Ring and maybe even my potential all time favorite souls boss in general (“Fighting Morgott every week until Fromsoft makes a better boss series” when? 🫢​⁠​⁠this is something I am seriously considering ‪@suchar7175‬) For some context this fight was actually during a no death run I was doing of the base game. But I couldn’t let my GOAT melt in 5 hits, hell no, so I decided out of pure principle that I needed to use a +0 weapon on him, even if the stakes for this type of run are high. To compromise I did use the Uchi for bleed. But even then I was pretty conservative on my punishes just to draw out the fight even more 🫢just going for basic R1 attacks until near the end. I definitely still could’ve taken advantage of more punishes and I think there’s still some refinement I could make to really perfect this fight but ultimately I’ve been very confident in my Morgott skills for a while, having done a handful of challenge runs and hitless fights on him so that’s the reason I did this fight at +0 for a no death run. It also ended up being NEAR HITLESS 🥳 Also I want to give a shoutout to ​⁠‪@Swarthy.‬ and their upcoming series of fighting Morgott with every weapon class. They are a great souls creator who’s been posting a lot of challenge type runs recently and are also quite good so check them out if you want PEAK and CINEMA!
