Today we'll be working on this Allis Chalmers 811 GT II that came into the shop with a Drive Belt issue. My customer was using this machine to plow his driveway when the drive belt slipped off. He called his nephew who came over to reinstall the drive belt, using the parts diagram for reference so he could reinstall the belt. However, he didn't know there is an error on the parts diagram, and thus the diagram shows the incorrect routing of the drive belt. The photo in the Drive Group diagram needs to be mirrored (or flipped horizontally) to produce the correct drive belt routing. Due to this mistake by Allis Chalmers, my customers nephew installed the belt improperly, which spun the transmission in the opposite direction. This meant that when my customer shifted into any of the 3 forwards gears, the riding lawn tractor drove in reverse.
