Have you ever been stumped as to how to make biscuits at home? Do you think homemade biscuits are too much too much work? In this video, I show you how to make biscuits at home from scratch using a recipe for "cream biscuits." Follow Me(Jamison) on Instagram: / plateyourfood Recipe: 2 cups of all purpose flour(Gold Medal All Purpose Flour) 1 1/2 cups of heavy whipping cream 3 tsp of baking powder 1/2 tsp of salt 4 oz of grated VERY cold butter Directions: Preheat your oven to 500 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and salt. Whisk the dry ingredients together to incorporate the together. Into the flour, grate 4oz of very cold butter. I prefer to use frozen butter. Quickly but gently make sure that the butter is coated with the flour. Into the bowl, add the heavy whipping cream and gently stir. Onto a floured surface, pour out the loose biscuit dough. Form the biscuit dough into a loose ball. Using a rolling pin, roll out the biscuit dough. Once flattened, tri-fold the biscuit dough onto itself and roll flat again with the rolling pin. Repeat the tri-folding of the biscuit dough as much as you'd like. The more you fold the biscuit dough, the more flaky layers will form. Lastly using a biscuit cutter or even a small glass, cut the biscuits out of the dough. Place the cut biscuits into an oven-safe container that has been buttered. Bake the biscuits at 500 degrees for about 10 minutes or until the biscuits have risen and have a light golden brown top. Serve these biscuits with your favor jams, preserves, butter or just enjoy the biscuits plain!
