Westminster Abbey = Part 8. The Chapter House. Filmed on Wednesday 22nd March 2023. Amazing Medieval, Religious Wall Paintings & "among the best & most extensive of their kind + The best preserved examples in England = commissioned by John of Northampton "one of the Abbey Monks" in about the year 1400. I specifically wanted to devote an whole video, to this part of The Abbey! The medieval Chapter House, is "a beautiful & historical work of art" in its own right! But, what really made this, such an enjoyable one, for me are "the traces of Medieval Wall Paintings = which were once covered over, with lime-wash, during the English Reformation! Then fast forward a few hundred years, & "they were carefully & painstakingly revealed" = Giving us glimpses at some beautiful medieval religious art." & its mad to think, that before their uncovering "the last eyes to have seen them = were those of the Tudor era." Some beautiful stained glass & architecture + medieval tiles & vaulted ceilings. & We even get to see "The Oldest Door in England." Hope you all enjoyed = Thanks for watching ✌️
