Now-a-days, Transportation of large numbers of people by means of buses, subway trains, etc., especially within urban areas is always a challenging task. This scenario of tremendous increase in traffic volume is owing to the extension of Urbanization of cities and increase in the number of vehicle ownership. This tremendous increase in traffic leads to demand for common Transportation services which would satisfy the necessity of public demands. Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) is a sustainable mode of Transport System defined for the purposes of public transportation services, which involve a substantial degree of collectivization or combining individual trips into shared trunk linkages. These systems have physically separated lanes that take vehicles out of mixed traffic congestion, prepaid enclosed boarding and alighting platforms that have increased speeds of movement, increase in number of passengers capacity of the system, faster and convenient transit system from one mode to another mode. The mass mode of transportation of people in metropolitan cities could be achieved with the help of construction of the Metro Rail system. The metro rail is a transit, when it is well utilized, it produces noteworthy benefits for the community such as air-quality improvements, less land consumption than an auto-dependent transportation system, lower energy requirements, and lower accident costs. They have higher standards than city buses, but a limited stopping pattern. The metro rail provides elevated, at grade level and underground railway lines and station points. This system is quite expensive in terms of construction and operating cost when compared to other modes of transport.
