In this video I will be installing plastic #sill #plates in my 1980 #Squarebody truck! A simple job that basically only requires a small metal drill and a screwdriver. They don't really have a function other than looking good, and before I added them I always had the feeling something was missing. These sill-plates from LMC Truck (not sponsored!) come as a kit with both sides and the mounting hardware (3 screws per side) included. Most Squarebodies came with these (or something like them) installed from the factory, so there should be holes in the floor already. The screws that came with the kit aren't self-tapping, so for some of the screws I had to pre-drill a small hole. The plates slot in your weather stripping and mold around the foor where the bench seat is. Always be sure to check underneath the floor of your vehicle before you start drilling! Damaging a fuel or brake line could really ruin your day. I would like to thank everybody that has already subscribed to my channel; I reached 200 subscribers last week and that's awesome! Also something to note around Wrench At Home: this channel is for my own entertainment and my videos are not meant as tutorials. My channel is just a documentation of me working on my own personal car(s) and I can't give any guarantees that the things I do will work for your particular car. I am just a normal guy and by no means a trained mechanic (I design and build websites for a living). I try to do things myself while figuring out 'the how' with a little help from the internet. Please put any tips, pointers or extra info you can share with me in the comments of this video. I hope you enjoy this video and if you do, please like the video and subscribe to the channel to see future updates on my truck and other projects. It really helps out the channel. Thanks!
