In this video we are working on the #Ashtray of my 1980 #GMC Sierra #Squarebody pickup truck. It opens way too far down and it looks like it has given up on life. I'm going to remove the ashtray from the dash in its whole, so that I have some more space to work on it, and then replace all the components like the rubber bumpers, the lighter itself, etc. I'll also add the missing springs to make it open and shut the way its supposed to. It's a non-trivial part of the truck, and I don't even smoke, but it just gives me great pleasure knowing that it now functions the way it should again. I hope you enjoyed this video and if you do, please like the video and subscribe to the channel to see future updates on my truck and other projects. It really helps out the channel. Also something to note around Wrench At Home: this channel is for my own entertainment and my videos are not meant as tutorials. My channel is just a documentation of me working on my own personal car(s) and I can't give any guarantees that the things I do will work for your particular car. I am just a normal guy and by no means a trained mechanic (I design and build websites for a living). I try to do things myself while figuring out 'the how' with a little help from the internet. Please put any tips, pointers or extra info you can share with me in the comments of this video. I hope you enjoy this video and if you do, please like the video and subscribe to the channel to see future updates on my truck and other projects. It really helps out the channel. Thanks!
