Want to learn the muscle up? Here are the 3 best muscle up progressions you can use to unlock it! The muscle up is THE calisthenics skills everyone wants to learn. It looks awesome, helps you to build muscle, and feels great when you finally achieve your first one. But, as I'm sure you're aware, the road to achieving the muscle up is a challenging one. Like all the most impressive calisthenics exercises it takes a good deal of dedication and consistency to unlock. This video contains three of the best muscle up progressions that you can add to your calisthenics routine to make it easier to learn the muscle up. I have helped so many people learn the muscle up with these exercises (including myself), so I wanted to put them in one video so that you can benefit from them too. When training for any advanced calisthenics skill (e.g. the muscle up, front lever, planche, etc.) it's important to know which progressions to use in your training to progress efficiently. The muscle up exercises listed in this video - pull ups, explosive pull ups, and knee thrusts - were chosen specifically because I believe they have the best carry-over to the muscle up. Not only do they help you build the basic strength needed to perform the muscle up, but they also help you develop the very specific explosive strength needed for it, too. If I were to rank the exercises in this video from easiest to hardest, I'd rank them thusly: Easiest: Pull ups Second easiest: Knee trusts Hardest: Explosive pull ups I didn't rank them in the video but I felt I should do it here to help any calisthenics beginners. However, as is always the case with calisthenics, difficulty is subjective - so I recommend experimenting with all three exercises to see which ones you find easiest/hardest.
