We’re cooking history through food and recapturing some childhood memories along the way! Here’s your recipe! 1/2 LB Bacon 1 Cup Onions, Sliced 1 1/2 Cups Celery, Sliced 1 Cup Mushrooms, Sliced 2 Cups Water 1 1/2 TBS Cornstarch 1 TSP Salt 1/4 TSP Pepper 1 1/2 TSP Soy Sauce 2 Cups Cabbage, Shredded 1 Cup Green Pepper, Sliced Cook bacon to crisp. Remove and drain off half of the fat. Crumble bacon and set aside. Brown onions, celery and mushrooms. Blend water and cornstarch and add to onion mixture, bring to simmer and cool covered for 10 minutes. Add salt, pepper and half of the bacon.Cook covered until tender about 15-20 minutes.
