Correction: At 1:47 I mention a Mod 0.5 pinion gear and I meant Mod 0.3 (the stock spur and pinion pitch). Also, I keep call the Hobbywing ESC a Micro24, when its name is Mini24. This video was supposed to be about installing the all new Hobbywing Mini24 ESC and 1621 Brushless motor combo in my Axial SCX24 Deadbolt to replace the Firma 8A 1/24 Brushless Combo (mostly because of its underpowered BEC). But the Hobbywing 1621 motor is not a drop-in solution: you need to source pinion and an aftermarket motor mount (which I don’t want to put in this truck). Instead, I installed a Furitek 2.5A Micro BEC to solve my glitching Reefs 99 Micro steering servo issues. This was a 5 minute plug-and-play solution that just required manufacturing a receiver-to-ESC adaptor cable (sans positive conductor) and routing wires. The Furitek 2.5A Micro BEC removed the brown-outs. The steering servo runs fast and strong, and the motor no longer stalls under steering load.
