Chuzhou, abbreviated as "Chu" and known in ancient times as Tuzhong, Qingliu and Xinchang, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province, one of the 27 cities in the central region of the Yangtze River Delta, the central city of the northern flank of the Wanjiang River urban belt, and the core city of the Nanjing and Hefei metropolitan areas. As of 2020, the city has 2 municipal districts, 4 counties, 2 county-level cities under its jurisdiction and 2 parks, with a total area of 13,433 km2 . According to the seventh census, the resident population of Chuzhou City was 3,987,054 as at 00:00 on 1 November 2020 .In 2021, Chuzhou City achieved a regional GDP of 336.21 billion yuan, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year at comparable prices. Chuzhou is located in east China, east of Anhui Province, the city has a river and a Huai River in the south, the Yangtze River in the south and the Huai River in the north, the main part of the lower Yangtze River plain area and the Jianghuai hilly area, a northern subtropical humid monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, warm and humid. Chuzhou was the capital of the Six Dynasties and has been known since ancient times as the "lock and key of Jinling and the safeguard of Jianghuai", "the shape of both Wu and Chu, Huaiyang" and "the flourishing of Confucianism, long through the Huai East". Chuzhou is a well-known landscape tourism destination in Jianghuai, with four national forest parks, 59 national, provincial and municipal cultural heritage protection units, and more than 40 scenic spots of all kinds. There are scenic spots such as Langya Mountain Forest Park, Huangfu Mountain Forest Park and Chihshu Lake Wetland Park. Zhu Yuanzhang, the founder of the Ming Dynasty, rose from Fengyang and built the Central Capital City and the Ming Imperial Tombs here. Ouyang Xiu's "The Records of the Drunken Master" and Wu Jingzi's "The History of the Confucius Forest" by the talented Wu Jingzi of the Song Dynasty became famous masterpieces of Chuzhou.
