為什麼要出發？ 一切的「他方」，都源自於對「此地」的過度熟悉。 台北是一座節奏極快、充滿脈動的城市。在密集的紅綠燈、擁擠的機車瀑布，與高架橋日夜不休的車流中，我們很容易不知全覺地，將自己的呼吸調頻成這座城市的形狀。 這支影像，是《他方誌 BEING ELSEWHERE》的起點，也是我的原廠設定。 留下城市的底噪與節拍。用純粹的凝視，記錄下我們是如何被這座城市推著前進，又是如何在這個不斷運轉的齒輪裡，萌生了想去別處找回自己的念頭。 先抵達了寂靜的京都，現在，我們回到一切出發的理由。 戴上耳機，聽見台北的心跳。 — Why depart? Every "elsewhere" stems from an over-familiarity with "here." Taipei is a city of rapid rhythms and a relentless pulse. Amidst the dense grid of traffic lights, the overwhelming cascades of scooters, and the endless stream of vehicles on elevated highways, it is all too easy to unconsciously tune our own breathing to the shape of the metropolis. This visual piece is the genesis of BEING ELSEWHERE, and my personal default setting. I deliberately stripped away all voiceovers, leaving only the city's ambient noise and underlying beat. Through pure observation, I wanted to document how we are propelled forward by this city, and how, caught within these relentlessly turning gears, the desire to go elsewhere to rediscover ourselves is born. Having first arrived in the absolute silence of Kyoto, we now return to the very reason for our departure.
