About the presentation: With over a decade of research, Dr. Walker will share exciting discoveries about sagebrush-obligate birds like the Greater Sage-Grouse and Brewer’s Sparrows. His work has led to new habitat treatment recommendations and a better understanding of how these birds use their habitat during the breeding season. About the speaker: Brett has worked across North America on conservation and ecological research related to upland game birds and songbirds, with a focus on sagebrush ecosystems and energy development. He holds an MS and a PhD from the University of Montana and enjoys outdoor activities such as fly fishing, mountain biking, and birding when not conducting research. About our Naturalist Nights series: Each winter, Wilderness Workshop partners with the Aspen Center for Environmental Studies and the Roaring Fork Audubon to present our Naturalist Nights speaker series, bringing in experts to explore topics of the natural world with our community.
