Replacing Low Point Drain Caps. QUICK & INEXPENSIVE FIX. So Much Easier to Use!

UPDATE - one of the valves developed a slow drip. We took it off, applied some plumbers tape and retightened and no issues so far! Todays video is a quick 2 minute fix or mod depending on how you look at it! For us, we call it a "pre-emptive fix"! It involves the low point drain caps on our GeoPro camper. We use the low point drains when we winterize and when we return home from a camping trip to drain the water out of the lines. But, up until this fix, it meant using some pliers or a wrench to help to unscrew the drain caps and then to rescure them. While not a big deal, we like making our camping lives a little easier especially if it is an inexpensive fix! We saw some posts online of other owners that were having trouble with the caps being cracked and it was suggested to put these 1/2" threaded PVC ball valves on instead. The benefit it is, now we can just turn the knob and let the water drain and then close the knob. So we don't have to remove anything from the camper and potentially lose them. And, if we have any trouble on the road - these or ones similar are available at major hardware stores. These are the ones we bought from Home Depot and the two together were around $6. https://www.homedepot.com/p/1-2-in-x-... And we are going to keep the old caps in our spare parts box - just in case!
