Installed in 1996 to replace Bannock Hall double in a slightly modified alignment, this Garaventa/CTEC detachable quad serves intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain. It’s the longest lift at Grand Targhee and despite the recent addition of the Colter lift, it’s still the flagship lift at the resort. It’s the first lift most people will ride at the resort unless they traverse down to Sacajawea, or head over to Shoshone. It’s a monster lift by any standard with full chair parking at the bottom terminal for inclement weather. The lift uses a Stealth II bottom drive, a tensioned Stealth II top return, AK-4 double position detachable grips, & the detachable variant of CTEC carriers. This was the first detachable lift at Targhee, and it opened to mixed reactions, with many warming up to it/liking it in the following years. It runs summers as well, serving an expansive network of bike trails, as well as scenic rides. It’s the core of Targhee’s lift system, and I could eventually see this becoming a six-pack, though I imagine it has 10 more years in it.
