Victorian Veteran 828 reigns on the Spa Valley Railway | 31/01~01/02/26

Celebrating her 127th birthday this year, Caledonian Railway No 828 is certainly a crowd favourite and these last few days would see her return back to squadron service on the High Weald based branch line. 828 is currently on a long term long from the Strathspey Railway and has been at the Spa Valley now since 2022 when it first appeared on the line during their 2022 instalment of their Scottish Steam Up. Ever since 828 has continued to enjoy and entertain guests on the line until she was withdrawn last autumn ahead of her annual winter maintenance programme. This weekend the Spa would utilise their green timetable. This would mean that the train would need to be top and tailed with Class 33 No 33063 leading the service to Eridge and with 828 returning the service back to Tunbridge Wells.
