Today let us see how to make perfectly clear ice cubes. 1) To make clear ice, ensure the water you use has a T.D.S in the range of 40 to 60. T.D.S stands for “Total Dissolved Salts”. If your water has high T.D.S or hardness or turbidity, an R O plant or a water softener is recommended. 2) For superior ice clarity, you also need to ensure hygiene at all levels right from the very beginning to the very end of the ice making process including storage and delivery temperatures. 3) The final and most important point in making clear ice is the usage of directional freezing. You cannot make clear ice when freezing happens from all directions. Crystal clear ice is possible only when freezing progresses along a specific direction.
