Blog Post: http://wp.me/pJgaa-XG --- In some stunning twist of collector's fate, Tamashii Nations has decided to up the quality of Bandai's usual DX Role Play line and bring us the DX MMZ-01, otherwise known as the Moe Moe Z-Cune from Unofficial Sentai Akibaranger. In what can be described as the most accurate Sentai changer/weapon to date, the price tag definitely shows, costing ¥12,000 at standard retail. Thankfully many shops are discounting the toy, as the high price is making demand pretty subpar at best. The toy is 1:1 scale, and designed to replicate the prop used in the show. It's built from pretty sturdy plastic, with a mix of die-cast parts in the barrel and handle of the gun. In figure mode, the paint used on Aoi looks great, and incredibly accurate to the show prop. In this mode, the plug on the star shaped base can plug into the barrel of the gun to act as a stand. There is no automatic transformation to gun mode. To get to gun mode, simply twist her neck so everything is lined up, extend the barrel of the gun on her leg, snap the two wings together and close the body of the gun around the figure. In gun mode, the toy has a lot of heft, and for once actually feels incredibly accurate to the show in weight and size. the blue used as the gun casing is beautifully done. In gun mode, the toy includes two stands, one for the front of the gun, and one for the back of the gun to display the toy. As for sounds, the toy features 5 sounds total. After flipping the toy on, when you pull the trigger, you will here the "Zukyuuuun!" sound, followed by the transformation jingle used in the show. By pressing the button on the top of Aoi's head, you will here the communication sound used in the show. Pulling the trigger after the transformation will result in a gun firing noise. If you hold down the button on her head, you will here the charge up noise for their final attack. Finally, by pulling the trigger after this, you get "Ikuze!" followed by the final attack explosion. Overall, if you're a fan of Akibaranger, than owning what could simply be described as the prop from the show, is an absolute treat. It's a bummer it doesn't include some phrases by Hakase after the communication sound, and I know some people are still bitter about the lack of auto transformation, but considering how much would need to be put in the toy for that to be possible, it makes a lot of sense. The price might be high, but what you get in return is a high quality, 1:1 scale prop replica that functions as an absolutely fantastic RP toy as well. Recommended, especially if you can get it at a discount. I love it. --- Awesome Intro thanks to Ryokuya!
