The SC Series continues to be the superior choice for fleets and owner operators, providing the full range of lift axles capacities, including 10,000, 13,500, and 20,000 pounds to meet the industry's demanding requirements and to maximize loads. The SC10 offers the end user a wide range of rim and tire combinations with 6-hole or 8-hole hub options for use with 17.5 inch or 19.5-inch tires. This flexibility allows truckers to adapt their lift axles to specific hauling requirements. Vehicle weight reduction remains a high priority for haulers. The SC Series suspension reduces system weight up to 69 pounds per axle. This reduction provides extra tons of additional cargo when multiplied by the number of loads and trucks in a fleet. The SC13 delivers a 796-pound system weight with standard wheel options, and improvement over the already impressive 865-pound system it replaces. Additional weight can be saved with our lightweight wheel offering. On a six axle truck configuration, the SC will result in over 200 pounds savings. As EPA emission regulations have mandated additional components onto the chassis, truck equipment manufacturers have been challenged to package auxiliary axles on the available frame space. To meet this demand head on, Hendrickson has minimized the package space of the SC to 22.1 inches. This shortened package of the new SC allows body builders and installers the freedom to squeeze lift axles into much tighter spaces. Hendrickson transformed two paradigms and changed the face of lift axle design by replacing forged I-beam axles and knuckles with efficient and reliable fabricated components and by improving on a technology as old as the forged I-beam itself: the tie rod. Hendrickson has taken tie-rod technology one step further by introducing the patent pending Compliant Tie Rod, CTR, with PerfecTrack technology, the first flexible tie-rod assembly and dampening system. The PerfecTrack system by Hendrickson was designed to lower maintenance costs and increase uptime by providing an impact resistant tie-rod assembly. Additionally, the CTR system provides a robust self-centering mechanism and improves driver feel through the industry's first ever Passive Steer Ackerman. The reliable easy tow adjustment feature on the tie-rod end makes tow tuning faster and alignment can be adjusted from either end of the tie-rod assembly. Maintenance costs are reduced via the use of a resilient natural-rubber bushing as the end connection, replacing traditional ball and socket joints that require regular lubrication. Additional savings are realized with the new steering damper that has replaced the damage prone coil spring. The CTR also reacts in a resilient manner to object strikes, reducing the downtime due to buckling incurred with traditional tie-rods. Robust self-centering is achieved through the innovative bushing and leaf spring crossbar combination. This team works in series to deliver consistent centering, lift after lift and corner after corner. Driver feel is enhanced as the CTR system allows independent wheel action when road undulations are encountered. The new CTR leaf spring crossbar and bushing design work together to isolate those single wheel impacts, resulting in a better ride. The CTR is a true margin enhancer by improving up-time, reducing maintenance costs, and delivering better driver comfort and overall lift axle satisfaction for the end user. The CTR product with a PerfecTrack technology system comes complete with a three-year warranty package.
