Presented by Charles Russell during the January 12, 2022 Chapter Meeting of Docomomo US/Colorado. About the Talk: From the Mile High Housing Association to DESCI, architect Eugene Sternberg created homes for tens of thousands of Coloradans. His designs promoted community and people, and challenged traditional city planners and architects to think beyond codes and regulations. Among his most well known projects is Arapahoe Acres, the only post-WWII subdivision to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and while it is his most notable community, it is not his Arapahoe Acres. About Charles Russell: Charles Russell is an urban planner and designer with nearly a decade of work in city planning and urban design. From pocket parks to master planned developments, his work has contributed to communities across Colorado and Indiana. Along with his professional work, Charles is a member of the Corvair Society of America, Docomomo, and the Ghost Town Club of Colorado.
