Come explore Kropa and its surrounding countryside with me. With the warm Summer weather, this weekend felt like the perfect time for a longer bike ride to the quaint Alpine town of Kropa, Slovenia. Nestled between the mountains with a river running through its center, it couldn’t be more picturesque. If you’ve ever visited Jamnik, a spot famous for its panoramic views, you’ve likely passed through Kropa as well. Kropa is known for its iron forging and blacksmithing history, which you can see in the beautifully crafted iron decorations all around town. Even on a sunny summer Saturday, the streets were quiet, only adding to the charm of this hidden gem. After exploring Kropa, I confidently set off on my first solo hike. Destination? The Partizanski dom na Vodiški planini. However, things didn’t exactly go as planned. What went wrong you ask? Well, I guess you’ll have to watch to find out ;) Cycling back through the lush green meadows of the Slovenian countryside, I made a stop at the Sava river. With the sun fully illuminating its emerald waters, it couldn’t have possibly been more beautiful. Feeling accomplished and in need of a break, I was drawn to the cool waters of the mountain creeks. After a quick stop to pick up some pizza, I headed to a nearby riverside. There, I ended my solo date day with a picnic, my latest reading obsession, and plenty of dips in the cool water.
