We will strive to enhance speed, quantity, quality, and efficiency, achieving the supply target of 294,000 public housing units in the next 10 years, and reducing the composite waiting time to 4.5 years by 2026/27. “Renting isn't a long-term solution. For the sake of our children, our goal is to buy a flat.” The Housing Authority's public rental estates house over 2 million residents, representing approximately 28% of Hong Kong's population. We hear residents' aspirations for upward mobility and are committed to increasing the supply of subsidized sale flats to help them climb the housing ladder. Since the current SAR government took office, 35,000 subsidized sale flats have been sold. Over the next five years, we will supply an additional 59,000 subsidized sale flats.
