First Revenue Ride on Caltrain's Stadler Kiss EMU trains

On August 11th, 2024, Caltrain placed the first 2 EMUs into revenue service beginning the process of replacing F40PH-2/F40PH-2CAT Diesel Electric locomotives and Gallery cars. As of now 37 Gallery cars have been retired (27 Passenger cars & 10 cab cars). The F40PH-2Cs, MP36PH-3Cs, and Bombardier Bi-levels will continue to stay on the property but will be used only for the Gilroy extension. In this video, we watch the first run of the emu in service and later we get on the train and we ride all the way from Millbrae to San Jose Diridon. During the ride we will be walking throughout the train showing the interior and we also get some horn action from the inside.
