Shanghai, also known as Shen, is a municipality directly under the Central Government of the People's Republic of China and the center of China's economy, finance, trade, shipping, commerce, upstream manufacturing and opening to the outside world. Shanghai is also a port city, the second most populous city in China, a more developed city in mainland China, and a global city. Shanghai is located in the center of the eastern coastline of China.
