RCMP officials have identified the suspect in the Tumbler Ridge, B.C., shooting as Jesse Van Rootselaar, 18. They took reporters' questions in Surrey, B.C., on Wednesday, the day after a mass shooting left nine dead, including the suspect. Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald said police had responded to Van Rootselaar's home for mental health-related calls in the past and seized firearms, which were later returned. Those found dead at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School were a 39-year-old female teacher, three 12-year-old girls and two boys — one 12 and one 13.
