What is OBJECT FOCUSED sentence in Tagalog? (E30)

We continue discussing the many uses of Group 2 of the Tagalog personal pronouns. In this video, we will touch on a unique aspect of Philippine languages, particularly Tagalog. That is the FOCUS SYSTEM or what other linguist call VOICE SYSTEM or TRIGGER SYSTEM. This system allows for the construction of one sentence in to two different ways depending on the focus of the sentence. The first one is: ACTOR FOCUS where the subject is the focus of the sentence. The second is: OBJECT FOCUS where the object of the sentence is the focus. This does not happen in English. But for Philippine languages, particularly Tagalog, this is very common, where two sentences can mean exactly the same thing.
