If you've been here long enough somehow to have seen my Ib video and read it's description as well, you know what day it is for me. It's my birthday (on October 12th when I upload this) so it's time for another important RPG Horror game from my past. So why did I decide to play The Witch's House for my birthday this year? It's simple really. I consider The Witch's House to be the game that introduced me to RPG Maker and RPG Maker Horror games. It's at least the one I remember first seeing all those years ago. A youtuber I liked played it, I watched their videos on the game, watched more RPG Horror stuff from them and the rest is history. I actually still remember the exact videos I watched too. The Witch's House is an outright iconic RPG Horror game. From the title screen to that final ending screen, there isn't a singular forgettable moment, at least for me. I don't think I've played the game enough to claim this is just because I've played it a hundred times either. There is one thing that I usually don't do for other games, that I did for this one. I sure purposefully died a lot. And that is because half the fun of The Witch's House is to see all the different deaths. Like, if I wasn't purposefully trying to die, this could've actually been a no-save run. Except not really because I have the need to save every 20 seconds, but I digress. There's not a lot I can really say about this game that hasn't already been said. The twist is still painful all these years later, the music is fantastic, the gameplay is pretty solid puzzle-solving, the deaths are fun and unique, the graphics while default are still very nice. The Witch's House is a very good horror game, what more can I say... Well, for one, why did I play the original instead of MV? 1. I'm nostalgic for this one. 2. The game got updated after MV came out including a new save screen and I think that's funny. If you have to choose between one or the other play MV though. By the way, did you know this game has a mobile port? It's pretty cool as well (aside from the ads.) It has unique visuals compared to MV or the original. It's only in Japanese though. And you don't want to know how annoying some sections are to play on a phone. Especially the chases. Anyway, I can't come up with anything more, so that's it. Good horror game as always and happy birthday to me, I suppose.
