A day when things did not go to plan. I was pleased to see there was a Black 5 on the Scrarborough Spa Express on this very warm day and would also have plenty of time to spare for a walk to a model shop before the train returned. After class 91 Flying Scotsman departed with the 12:02 I set off to the shop and got back just as a green class 47 was dropping off a driver, that was lucky. then a long wait for the Black 5 which did not seem to of departed according to Railcam. On finding out it was not expected to depart for about another hour due to a failed Trans Pennine unit I decided to head back home with a choice of a train and bus to get me back quite soon or a much later in the evening arrival home I decided on the former.
