𝗜𝗳 𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗹𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘆? That's the powerful message one of Global PAD Association's Global Vascular Surgeon of the Year 2024 Dr. Marta Lobato's patients wants her to share with others in this week's The Pulse, sponsored by Reflow Medical and the Global PAD Association. You've got to take a moment to hear this patient's story because he wasn't worried as much about his legs as he was about those of future generations. This patient, with a family history of bilateral leg amputations, taught her that if amputation is on deck for amputation already, then why not do everything in your power, even trying something new, to see if it might make a difference. He explained to her, that while those efforts might not save his legs, the learnings through the process of trying, would help to further medicine to hopefully save those of future generations, including his kids and grandkids. The Pulse is a weekly series that airs in The Heart of Innovation broadcast on KDOW in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and streams online through the Global PAD Association's Youtube Network.
