It is mostly made in the Kumaoni region during the festival of Makar Sankranti… They are very tasty, nutritious and healthy to eat…...Ghaghuti is distributed to all the families once prepared. There is also a tradition of wearing mala of ghughuti by childrens..... they also sing a poem wearing mala as ….. “Kala Kawa Kala Ghuguti Mala Khale, Kala Kawa aa, lagad bada kha, kale kawa ka ka pushe roti maghe kha, le kawa baad makey di sunak ghad, le kawa talwar, makey di thullo gharbar.” Ingredients Wheat Flour – 250 grams Jaggery – 150 grams. Fennel seeds- 2 tsp White sesame – 4 tsp Desi ghee – 5 tsp Baking soda – a pinch Oil to fry Method 1. Take a pan and add a glass of water to it and melt the jaggery 2. Add fennel, sesame to wheat flour and add 5 tsp of desi ghee and mix in the flour. 3. Now mix the jaggery water little by little in the flour and mix… Prepare a little soft and nice dough. 4. Now the most important step is to take a little amount of dough in your hands and roll a thick string out of it and twist is according to y0our wish like 8 no. or like a jalebi….you can make any shape as your wish…. 5. Now last step is to deep fry them till until slight brown.
