But Alderney Electricity's CEO insists that this process isn't the most efficient and leaves the island at the mercy of global markets and maintenance issues with the fuel boats. I then met with Liam, the mastermind behind upgrading the island's power grid, who took me on a tour of the many substations that allow power to travel to even the furthest corners of the island.
